Abyssal Engima Dive In Edition (VR)
Hello everyone!
We've recently been working on a VR version of our underwater adventure!
We feel that virtual reality fits well with our exploration game and enhances the experience drastically.
Hopefully you feel the same way :)
Since VR games struggle with motion sickness, we have incorporated four techniques to combat motion sickness:
1. the player character can only move in the direction you are facing
2. a vignette effect is added to the camera while moving
3. we added a "reference nose" to the player, basically something you always have in view as a reference point
4. last but not least, we tried to implement a "realistic" swimming movement to create an alternative movement option.
Controls:
- Looking around with the headset
- The left trigger and the grip button are used for interaction
- The right trigger and the grip button are used to close interactions
- The joysticks of both controllers can be used for forward movement
- Move one or both hands in direction of view (the color of your VR hands should change) and move them back towards your body (preferably as if you were actually swimming) and you will move towards the camera for about 1 second
Attention! It is not possible to move backwards, turn around and continue moving in the direction of view.
